Delivery Guidelines
Our 28 mini delivery yards are equipped with personnel to carry out efficient, successful and reliable delivery of your shipping containers after purchase.
We have listed below comprehensive information about our delivery guidelines and options available.
Tilt-Bed Truck.
Our Tilt-Bed truck is a go-to choice for delivering containers up to 25’ long or combinations like two 10’ containers! It boasts the tightest turning radius, making it perfect for navigating inner-city streets, winding mountain roads, and other limited access locations.
Picture this: our truck backs right up to your desired spot, tilting its bed as the container smoothly rolls off the back and into place.
To ensure smooth slide and safe drop off —we’ll need at least 40-60 feet of straight-line clearance.
After your order is confirmed our delivery team will reach out to you for delivery arrangements whereby they confirm where you wish to have the doors facing in other to determine it’s final positioning on site.
Got any concerns about clearance at your location or along the route? Don’t hesitate to let us know! We’re more than happy to scout the route before delivery to make everything go as smoothly as possible.
You’re in great hands!
Tilt-Bed Truck & Trailer.
Our Tilt-Bed truck and trailer combo is capable of delivering our shipping containers that are up to 40 feet long, and as well as various combinations such as two 20-foot containers or four 10-foot containers. For an efficient and successful delivery, this truck requires a clear straight-line clearance of 90-100 feet. The delivery process begins with backing the truck up to your desired placement location for the container. Once in position, the trailer is tilted, allowing the container to roll off the back safely without no scratch or dent to the shipping container.
When scheduling your delivery, we inquire about the desired orientation of the container’s doors—whether they should face the cab or the rear. This decision directly impacts how the doors will be positioned at the final delivery site.
If there are any concerns or questions regarding site clearance or the route to your location, please contact us. We would be glad to assess the route in advance to confirm that delivery can be executed smoothly. This truck can successfully delivery and pickup four 10ft units, two 20ft units, one 40ft unit or 45ft units.
Flat-bed Truck.
Our Flatbed truck is capable of delivering containers that measure up to 45 feet in length. It’s important to note that, in contrast to the Tilt-Bed truck option, the Flatbed cannot lower containers to the ground. As such, a forklift, crane, or other offloading equipment will be necessary at the delivery site to facilitate the unloading process. Typically, this delivery method is chosen when the destination is located more than 200 miles from one of our mini delivery yards.
We indulge you to inform us of any potential clearance issues either at the site or along the delivery route. Our team is more than willing to assess the route in advance to ensure that your delivery can proceed without any complications. Please feel free to provide the necessary details so we can assist you effectively.
Side-Lifter Truck
Our side-lifter truck is equipped with two sliding cranes, positioned at both the front and rear of the trailer, facilitating the seamless placement and lifting of containers onto the ground or back onto the trailer. This type of truck is capable of transporting containers ranging from 20 to 45 feet in length, or accommodating two 20-foot containers, assuming each container is equipped with four bottom ISO corner castings. Notably, the side-lifter truck represents the largest vehicle in our delivery fleet.
One of the key benefits of utilizing a side-lifter truck is its impressive load capacity of 42,000 lbs. This allows for efficient transfer of containers from other trailers or chassis located at your site, with the capability to manage loads up to 72,000 lbs. When working on a solid and level surface, this truck can stack containers up to two levels high. To execute this operation, the driver will position the truck next to the designated drop-off area for the container. Once properly aligned, the outriggers are deployed, and the loading or unloading process is conducted exclusively from the driver’s side.
When arranging for delivery, we will inquire about the desired orientation of the container’s doors—whether they should face the cab or the rear of the truck. This detail is essential as it ultimately dictates the door placement once the container arrives at your location.
While the side-lifter truck option is typically more costly than the Tilt-Bed truck delivery method, it offers distinct advantages, such as the absence of the requirement for a 100-foot straight-line clearance to complete the delivery. Additionally, this truck is ideal for situations where containers need to be positioned on elevated platforms or stacked atop other containers.
If you have any concerns regarding clearance at your site or along the delivery route, please do not hesitate to inform us. We are more than willing to conduct a route preview prior to delivery to ensure that all delivery operations can be carried out smoothly and efficiently.
Crane Truck.
Our crane truck is capable of delivering containers up to 24 feet in length, or a combination of sizes. This truck can also tow a trailer to accommodate multiple 20-foot (or smaller) containers for delivery to the same site. A crane is strategically mounted between the cab and the deck, allowing for efficient loading and offloading of containers. Under typical conditions, the crane can position a 20-foot container approximately 25 feet away from the truck. Please note that all operations are conducted by a certified crane operator.
The crane truck serves as an excellent choice for deliveries that require placing containers over fences, on elevated platforms, stacking them atop one another, or in scenarios where precise placement is critical. It is important to mention that the feasibility of each delivery location is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
To ensure a efficient and successful delivery, it is essential that your shipping container is set on firm, dry, and level ground, such as pavement, gravel, or compacted dirt.
Deliveries using Tilt-Bed and Flatbed trucks are quoted at a fixed rate, inclusive of 30 minutes of offloading time. Should the site be unprepared for delivery, or if equipment is not ready, additional time will incur an hourly charge per our terms and conditions, billed in 15-minute increments.
In contrast, deliveries conducted with side-lifter and crane trucks are typically billed at an hourly rate. This billing begins when the driver departs from our facility and concludes upon their return.
For every delivery, our delivery team will reach out to the designated site contact person 24 hours prior to confirm the 1hour 45mins delivery duration. On the day of delivery, they will contact the site contact again to provide a 30-minute delivery window.
See our standard Delivery Policy which applies to all delivery.
